about
A third generation truck driver, Army Vet and self taught guitar player; Jake Birdseye brings you on a musical journey through his life. From driving truck over the road, love, heartbreak, a drinkin’ song or two and of course, family. His story telling lyrics and timeless melodies blend seamlessly to bring you a traditional country sound, with a unique touch of his own. In his short career, Jake has been able to share the stage with some of the biggest names in country music including, Alabama, Tyler Farr, Joe Nichols, Justin Moore, Jo Dee Messina & more.
Born in the northern Minnesota harbor town of Duluth, MN, Jake picked up his first guitar at only 10 years old. A self taught musician, he learned to play by ear, simply listening to his dad’s old cassette tapes on repeat. Clearly a natural, Jake continued to play guitar, but didn’t start writing or performing until later in life. Now almost 7 years after his first official gig and 700+ shows under his belt, Jake continues to perform around the region making a name for himself. His debut single “Down The Road” -was released in 2022, right after his first ever Nashville performance. “Down the Road” is the perfect collision of life as a truck driver and heartbreak as he navigates the ultimate question, should he stay or leave. His second and his most recent hit “Ol’ JD” - is an upbeat honkytonk tune, filling the airwaves with classic steel guitar riffs, a catchy melody and the all encompassing love hate relationship that can be had with good ol’ whiskey.
With new music on the radar, 2024 is proving to be his best year yet as he and his band are playing bigger fairs and festivals throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin and opening for some of country’s most iconic artists. Even with his growing fan base, Jake continues to remain true to his humble roots both on and off stage; when he isn’t performing he is a dedicated family man, but also enjoys golfing, snowmobiling and spending time with friends.
